Group Therapy
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Group therapy uses many of the same approach as individual therapy, but in a setting where typically 6-10 people learn and practice the skills together.
Think of a space where you and alike peers can share openly, learn from each other’s experiences, build community, and gain perspective - that’s what to expect from group therapy.
❋ Intentional StructureWe blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both focused and fluid.
❋ Collaborative EnergyConnection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content, and clinician themselves.
❋ Genuine peopleAs therapists, we bring our full selves into the group therapy space just as much as we invite you to bring your full self in as well.
❋ A Supportive SpaceWe prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.
Perdicou Psychotherapy runs virtual group therapy year round, and we’re constantly working to develop new offerings for different groups. This means not only do you get to meet our therapists, but you also get to start building community right from the comfort of your own home.

Are you open to connecting with others, hearing different perspectives, and learning what it’s like to participate in a supportive community? Group therapy can help many clients to feel less alone in their experiences through its shared learning environment.
If any of that sounds like something that might interest you, group therapy could be for you.

Research has shown that group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy for many challenges including anxiety, trauma, relationships, etc. Some report better outcomes in fact because of shared support, and access to community!
-

-
We run groups with typically 6-10 people in total, plus at least one therapist. We will set inclusion and exclusion criteria based on the individual group, which can be found via that group’s landing page.
-
Absolutely! We typically run “closed” groups - this means that the people who you start your group with will be the only people ever in attendance for the entirety of it. One of the first things we will discuss and agree to amongst members is confidentiality amongst group members, and respecting each other’s personal information.
-
You are in absolute control of what you share. Many people begin by listening, and gradually find themselves sharing more as they feel comfortable and build connection.
